Ange Postecoglou Confirms Cristiano Ronaldo Ready for Al-Nassr Despite Portugal Controversy

Postecoglou Confident in Ronaldo’s Condition Amid Portugal Team Issues

Ange Postecoglou, the head coach of Al-Nassr, has assured fans that Cristiano Ronaldo is fit and mentally ready to play after leaving the Portugal national team camp early. The Australian manager chose to focus on the club's upcoming Saudi Pro League match rather than the recent controversies involving the forward.

Ronaldo Set for Saudi Pro League Action

Postecoglou revealed that Ronaldo, now 41, has returned to the team in excellent shape. He could start when Al-Nassr hosts Al-Diriyah on Friday for matchday eight. Despite speculation swirling across Europe about Ronaldo’s international exit, the coach is fully concentrated on his club’s efforts to stay near the league summit.

Manager Avoids Commenting on Portugal Team Drama

When asked about the tension reportedly between Ronaldo and Portugal coach Jorge Jesus, Postecoglou declined to discuss it. He emphasized, "Cristiano has returned to the club in good physical and mental shape. That is the most important thing for us." He added, "I don't like club managers commenting on what happens in the national team, so I won’t talk about it."

Team Boosted by Joao Felix’s Return

Beyond Ronaldo, Al-Nassr received a lift as Joao Felix rejoined full training in Riyadh. The coaching staff are now awaiting the arrival of Saudi internationals who recently won the Arabian Gulf Cup by beating the United Arab Emirates 2-0. Having the full squad back is critical as the reigning champions juggle a busy domestic and continental schedule.

League Race Intensifies

Al-Nassr enters their next match just two points behind the leaders. A win against Al-Diriyah would keep pressure on front-runners Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad. This fixture marks the beginning of a tough autumn stretch, where slipping up domestically could hurt their ambitions before regional tournaments resume. Ronaldo continues his quest to reach 1,000 career goals, having already netted 979.
