NFL Fans Demand Lifetime Ban for Minkah Fitzpatrick After Hit on KC Concepcion

Outrage After Minkah Fitzpatrick's Hit on Browns Rookie KC Concepcion

The Cleveland Browns suffered a tough 17-12 loss to the New York Jets in Week 5, snapping their three-game winning streak. One major talking point was the aggressive play from Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick that left Browns rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion sidelined with a concussion.

Concepcion’s Promising Start Cut Short

Selected 24th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M, 22-year-old Concepcion has impressed so far this season with 144 yards on 17 catches. His progress came to an abrupt halt during the game at MetLife Stadium when Fitzpatrick delivered a hard hit after a reception from Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The hit was flagged for unnecessary roughness as Concepcion was knocked unconscious and remained motionless briefly on the turf. Although he managed to stand and head to the locker room, he was later diagnosed with a concussion and did not return for the rest of the match.

Earlier in the drive, Fitzpatrick was also penalized for a facemask foul on Concepcion, which had ripped off the rookie’s helmet completely.

Fitzpatrick’s History Against Browns Players

Cleveland fans are familiar with Fitzpatrick’s tough style, especially since he spent time with AFC North rivals Pittsburgh Steelers from 2019 to 2024. During that stint, Fitzpatrick’s low tackle caused a severe left knee injury to former Browns running back Nick Chubb, a wound that effectively ended Chubb’s explosive NFL career and led to his retirement at 30.

Fan Backlash: Calls for Lifetime Ban

The hit on Concepcion ignited strong reactions from Browns supporters on social media platforms like X. They condemned Fitzpatrick's aggressive approach and demanded action.

  • Fan 1: "The only thing Minkah Fitzpatrick knows how to do is put dirty hits on Browns players and knock them out of the game. He’s a piece of filth and needs (to be) removed from the league."
  • Fan 2: "I want Minkah Fitzpatrick out of the NFL. What a cheap piece of trash."
  • Fan 3: "Minkah Fitzpatrick IS DIRTY AND SHOULD BE EJECTED AND REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE! He shows no remorse…second foul on a single drive is wild!"
  • Fan 4: "He's been a dirty player his whole career and showed it again."
  • Fan 5: "Different jersey, same Minkah Fitzpatrick."

Browns Hope for Quick Recovery

Head coach Todd Monken will be closely monitoring Concepcion’s health as the team prepares for their Week 6 clash against divisional rivals Baltimore Ravens. The hope is that the young receiver can bounce back swiftly from the concussion and continue to contribute to the Browns' offense.
