Leny Yoro Opens Up on Manchester United's Challenges and His Role Before Atletico Madrid Clash

Leny Yoro Discusses Man Utd's Internal Talks Amid Tough Start

Leny Yoro, the young defender at Manchester United, remains confident in the squad’s ability to turn their season around despite early struggles. The French player revealed that the team has been holding honest discussions behind closed doors to address recent form issues.

Team Unity and Handling Pressure

With a tense atmosphere at Old Trafford after a late draw against a 10-man Tottenham, marking their worst season start since 1986, Yoro stayed positive about the group’s mental strength. He said, "I have faith in the team and in us. I'm confident that in the upcoming matches we will improve and continue to move forward. I'm not particularly worried about this situation. All teams can go through difficulties at the start of a season. We are prepared to face them and keep working."

The 20-year-old emphasized the importance of facing reality and taking responsibility, sharing, "Sometimes you have to tell it like it is. And we have. We will continue to do so. We have to face reality and improve."

Adjusting to a New Defensive Position

Recently, Yoro has been shifted from his usual central defensive role to right-back. This change, often challenging for young players under pressure, has been embraced by Yoro, who expressed readiness for any position the team needs him in. He stated, "It's a position I can play. If I have to play there, I'm ready. I also like playing there. Of course, it has different aspects, but you have to adapt. I think you always have to be prepared. Whatever position on the field, I'm ready to play."

Support from Senior Players

Yoro praised the guidance from senior teammates Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez. Despite competition for starting spots, their mentorship has helped him settle quickly into the club culture and improve daily. He remarked, "They help me improve a lot every day, especially in training. I talk to them a lot and they help me grow. This is my third season here and I felt like a Manchester United player from day one. I'm very happy with how this season has started, but I know I can still improve. They also help me a lot in this process."

Looking Ahead to the Atletico Madrid Clash

Preparing for the Champions League game against Atletico Madrid, Yoro appeared unfazed by the challenge posed by Diego Simeone’s aggressive side and their intense home crowd. He said, "Of course there's pressure, but it's not something that particularly affects me. I'm going to prepare for it exactly the same as any other match."
