Jon Jones Predicts Outcome of Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit at UFC 334

Jon Jones Weighs In on UFC 334 Heavyweight Title Fight

Jon Jones, a well-known figure in the UFC world, shared his thoughts on the upcoming heavyweight championship match at UFC 334. The event is scheduled for November 14 at Madison Square Garden, New York City. This fight features the current undisputed heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane, who recently claimed the title after Tom Aspinall vacated it due to an eye injury, facing off against the undefeated contender Josh Hokit.

Hokit is not just any challenger; he trains alongside Jones at the Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which adds an interesting dynamic to the matchup.

Jones’ Take on Gane vs. Hokit

"Josh looks great right now. He's doing a great job, obviously coached by some of the best in the world. I've always supported wrestlers and backed wrestlers. It’s interesting for me because I have Gable (Steveson), and there are words being exchanged back and forth. It’s awkward, but deep down, behind Gable, I’m supporting all the guys," Jones told The Schmo (via MMAjunkie.com)."I want to see everyone live healthy lifestyles and do well in business and family, so I'm rooting for everybody. I'd be lying if I didn’t say that the more people Ciryl Gane beats, the more it shows how special our family and team are. My prediction is that Hokit very well could win, but I'd also be lying if I said it doesn’t make our brand look great when Ciryl Gane wins. May the best man win."

Thoughts on UFC 335: Pereira vs. Pavlovich

Jones also commented on the next big heavyweight clash at UFC 335, set for December 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. That fight will feature former two-division champion Alex Pereira against knockout specialist Sergei Pavlovich. Jones didn’t make a clear prediction but expressed interest in the matchup.

"The Alex that showed up last time was hesitant and maybe second-guessing himself, so I don’t really know. I thought Pereira would challenge Ciryl Gane more, so it’s hard to say how the fight between Sergei and Alex will unfold. I’ll be watching, and again, may the best man win," he said.

Future of the UFC Heavyweight Division

The winner of Pereira vs. Pavlovich might face the victor of Gane vs. Hokit in 2027. The heavyweight division has been slow-moving due to Aspinall’s injury, which prevented title defenses for over a year. If Aspinall recovers, he could immediately return to title contention next year.
