Manchester United Falls to Atlético Madrid; Bayern Draws in Norway; Barcelona Dominates in Champions League

Manchester United Suffers Defeat in Madrid

Manchester United faced a tough night at the Metropolitano, conceding an early goal and then losing a player to a red card as they fell 2-0 to Atlético Madrid on Tuesday.

Pablo Barrios gave Atlético the lead after just 50 seconds, setting the tone for the match. Matters worsened for United when Leny Yoro was sent off in the 74th minute following a VAR review that ruled he denied Jonathan David a clear scoring chance.

Five minutes later, Ademola Lookman scored to double Atlético's advantage, sealing a grim evening for the 10-man Red Devils.

The early goal was only the fourth time Manchester United conceded within the first minute in Champions League history. Johnny Cardoso appeared to have doubled Atlético's lead in the first half but the goal was disallowed after a VAR handball check.

Bayern Munich Battles to a 3-3 Draw in Norway

Just days after conceding a Bundesliga record goal after eight seconds, Bayern found themselves behind after 72 seconds in Norway. Gianni Stensness headed in from a corner against Jonas Urbig, who was starting in place of Manuel Neuer.

Peter Christiansen extended Viking’s lead to 2-0 in the 38th minute, stunning the German giants. Harry Kane sparked Bayern’s comeback with two goals within six minutes: a penalty in the 54th and a header from a Joshua Kimmich cross in the 60th.

Luis Díaz gave Bayern the lead in the 71st minute before Michael Olise was sent off for two quick bookings. Viking capitalized on their numerical advantage when Herman Haugen scored an equalizer in the 90th minute, ending the game at 3-3.

Barcelona Overwhelms Galatasaray with Four Second-Half Goals

Tied 1-1 at halftime with goals from Alexey Batrakov and João Cancelo, Barcelona exploded in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals to win 4-1.

Fermín López opened the scoring in the 50th minute with a header from Lamine Yamal’s cross. Anthony Gordon made it 3-1 just four minutes later, also assisted by Yamal. Karim Adeyemi sealed the victory with a goal in the 65th minute.
