Tyson Fury Plans to Invite Donald Trump for Anthony Joshua Fight

Tyson Fury Eyes Donald Trump Appearance for Joshua Clash

Known for turning his fights into major events, Tyson Fury doesn't hold back when it comes to entrances. His shows often feature pyrotechnics and music that energize fans both in the arena and watching remotely.

Fury is reportedly aiming for a similar level of spectacle for what’s being called the biggest British boxing match ever: his bout against fellow Brit and former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The fight is set for December 11th at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in Wales.

This time, though, Fury’s plans may stir some controversy. He has revealed intentions to invite none other than the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to join him during his ring walk, a move likely to draw mixed reactions.

The Long-Awaited Fury vs Joshua Battle

After years of delays—caused by both fighters’ timing, losses, and promotional issues—the showdown between Fury and Joshua is finally confirmed to take place in the UK. Fury has always been clear about wanting the biggest payout possible for this fight, even if it means the deal falls through.

When talks first hinted at Madison Square Garden in New York as the venue, Fury was eager because of the lucrative payday that would come with it. But Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn insisted the fight remain on British soil, with AJ even accepting a big pay cut to make it happen in the UK. Eventually, the nearly 74,000-capacity Principality Stadium was chosen.

Fury’s Memorable Ring Walks

Fury's entrances have been spectacular throughout his career. In 2020, during his rematch with Deontay Wilder at the MGM Grand, he entered wearing a robe and crown on a throne, later dressing as a Spartan warrior for their trilogy fight in 2021, walking out to AC/DC’s "You Shook Me All Night Long."

His 2022 WBC title defense against Dillian Whyte at Wembley combined songs like "American Pie," "Jerusalem," and "Your Sex Is On Fire" with attire inspired by the English flag. Against Oleksandr Usyk, he opened his first May 2024 fight with "Holding Out For A Hero" and started the December rematch with "All I Want For Christmas Is You." These theatrical ring walks are part of Fury’s signature style.

Will Donald Trump Join the Spectacle?

For the upcoming Joshua fight, Fury wants to bring back his flair but is also willing to risk backlash by inviting Trump to accompany him during his entrance. Fury stated,

"I'll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, and we'll see if he's available. It's probably unlikely because of the situation he's in at the moment, being the President of the United States."

Fury seems aware of the challenges Trump faces with upcoming mid-term elections and ongoing international conflicts. Since the fight won’t be in the US, the chances of Trump attending might indeed be slim.
