Thomas Tuchel Predicts Harry Kane Will Join Elite 100-Goal Club for England Soon

Tuchel Confident Kane Will Reach 100 Goals for England

Thomas Tuchel, managing the England national team, believes Harry Kane will soon join the exclusive group of footballers who have scored 100 or more international goals. Currently with 87 goals after scoring in England's recent 2-0 Nations League win over the Czech Republic, Kane is closing in on this milestone.

Kane ranks eighth on the all-time international scoring list, behind only legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Ali Daei. Tuchel thinks Kane will reach 100 goals within his next 13 appearances, calling him a unique talent unlikely to be replaced anytime soon.

"He is closing in. He scored again. 13 goals left," Tuchel said. When asked if he truly expects Kane to hit the mark, Tuchel responded, "Thirteen matches. You will not get another Harry Kane, first of all. He is the highest level of goalscorer."

Challenges in Replacing Kane

Tuchel also warned that finding a successor to Kane won't be easy for England, suggesting it could take a decade before someone of similar caliber emerges. The striker remains in top form, scoring in consecutive games, including against Spain and the Czech Republic.

"There will be someone else but it will not be Harry or a copy of Harry. We will find a solution when it comes to it but maybe not me. It might be another 10 years," Tuchel remarked.

Kane Focused on Present Achievements

Despite growing anticipation around his goal record, Kane stays grounded. Having broken Wayne Rooney's previous England scoring record three years ago, Kane is preparing for his 124th international appearance this weekend against Croatia. Last season, he netted 73 times for Bayern Munich and is considered a strong contender for the upcoming Ballon d'Or.

"I don’t like to think too far ahead, but of course, it’s getting closer. 100 goals for the national team would be something special without a doubt," Kane said."It still feels like yesterday I just broke the record and I was away in Italy getting that one. The seasons come and they go quickly, so I just enjoy being out there with the boys on the pitch, wearing the Three Lions shirt and that won’t change."

Building on Victory Against Czechia

Kane reflected on his role during the recent win, emphasizing that scoring goals remains his primary responsibility. He enjoys scoring and felt pleased to get on the scoresheet before being substituted.

"The striker’s job is to score goals first and foremost, and I know that, and I love doing that. It’s still the best feeling there is," Kane explained."Sometimes I’ll touch the ball a lot and be the difference in build-up or passing or switching play," he added.

He also acknowledged that England's performance could improve, especially in creating chances through better crosses and through balls, but stressed that securing the win was the priority.

"The final product has to be perfect and I don’t think it was quite there. But in the end, a win’s a win. I’ve been around long enough where sometimes you just have to win the game and move on and tonight was one of those," Kane concluded.
