Kylian Mbappe marked a major milestone by netting his 100th goal for Real Madrid during their 2-1 win over Barcelona at Camp Nou. The French forward scored both goals to secure the victory and celebrated the team's success above his personal achievement.

Scoring Milestone Achieved Quickly

Mbappe reached this century mark in just 116 appearances, an impressive feat that places him among the club's greats. His 100 goals break down as follows:

  • La Liga: 67 goals
  • Champions League: 25 goals
  • Copa del Rey: 4 goals
  • Club World Cup: 2 goals
  • UEFA Super Cup: 1 goal
  • Spanish Super Cup: 1 goal

During the match, Mbappe opened the scoring with a shot that deflected off his thigh before adding a second late on, assisted by Eduardo Camavinga.

Focus Remains on Team Success

"I'm very happy. Everyone knows I like to score goals and help the team with that," Mbappe said after the game. "But today, that’s just a detail. The important thing is the team's victory and how we win together."

He downplayed the importance of the milestone, stressing the collective effort instead. "This win will boost our confidence and there will be many more goals to come, so it’s not that important," he added.

Call for Unity in Title Pursuit

Mbappe highlighted the need for teamwork and maintaining high standards as they chase trophies. "We knew we had to play like men and as a team," he explained. "If we want to achieve things this year, we have to do it as a group. Anyone who says we lack quality is lying."

He acknowledged the significance of staying in the title race: "Winning and still being in the hunt for the championship is very important for us."

Mbappe's Season So Far

Already a two-time Pichichi Trophy winner and Golden Boot recipient since joining Real Madrid, Mbappe continues to lead the attack. He has scored 14 goals across all competitions this season.

The team now turns its attention to their next La Liga away match against Santander on Sunday.
