Chema Andres Thrilled by Stunning Brighton Debut Goal in 3-0 Win Over Arsenal

Brighton's Chema Andres Shines Early in Premier League

Chema Andres, the Spanish midfielder who recently joined Brighton from VfB Stuttgart, has been making waves since his arrival. His first goal for the Seagulls came in a commanding 3-0 victory against Arsenal, a moment he admits to watching repeatedly after family and friends keep sending him clips.

Instant Impact at Amex Stadium

After transferring for around €23 million on September 1, Chema Andres quickly found his feet in English football. Following a debut in a 5-0 win over Coventry City, the Real Madrid academy product dazzled with a spectacular strike against Arsenal. His performances have helped Brighton climb to third place in the Premier League table.

Adjusting to English Football's Intensity

"Well, as you say, very quickly, but with great enthusiasm, very happy, and thank God, so far everything is going well. I've been here for three weeks," said Andres when discussing his adaptation.

He compared the Premier League with the Bundesliga: "They are two very competitive leagues, but at the end of the day, the Premier League is the top league in the world. The tempo is dynamic, fluid, with few stoppages; referees let the game flow, and I believe the physical level is higher. It feels great to score in both, but yes, scoring in the Premier League is genuinely thrilling."

Reliving the Moment with Family and Friends

The young star keeps replaying his debut goal thanks to constant clips shared in family group chats. "I must have watched it several times by now because my friends and family keep sending it to our group chats. And I just say, well, I'll watch it again. It gives me a real buzz, I'm not going to lie," he revealed.

Communication and Team Integration

On settling into the new dressing room, Chema Andres added, "Now I'm doing well, much better now. Everyone speaks English at the club. In Germany most people spoke English too, but like it or not, German could hold you back a bit. English is better. The gaffer is German, but I already understand German people a bit, so it’s all good."

Brighton’s Strong Start Continues

Brighton currently sit in the Premier League's top four, having collected ten points from their first five games. Manager Fabian Hurzeler’s team looks to keep up momentum when they face Sunderland on October 10 at the Stadium of Light, a fixture that could be key for maintaining their high standing.
