Moët & Chandon to Headline 2027 Australian Grand Prix
The Australian Grand Prix is raising a glass to a new era of glamour, with Moët & Chandon confirmed as the title partner for the 2027 race at Albert Park.
The champagne house steps into the spotlight as the latest name in a rolling cast of headline sponsors that has defined the post-COVID era for the event. Qatar Airways previously held naming rights, following Heineken in 2022, Rolex across 2023-2024 and Louis Vuitton in 2025. Now, the race moves from premium to positively opulent.
This is no casual partnership. Moët & Chandon already pours at the very top of the sport as Formula 1’s official champagne sponsor, a deal secured in 2025, and its history with Australian motorsport stretches back decades. From 1985 to 1997, the brand’s bottles were a fixture on the podium of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, long before the modern sponsorship carousel began to spin.
For Melbourne, the relationship runs even deeper. Moët & Chandon first shipped to the Victorian capital in 1888 for the city’s Centennial Exhibition, and the maison has been trading on that historic connection ever since. Now it returns not just as a celebratory flourish on the podium, but with its name above the door.
CEO Statements
Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Travis Auld framed the deal as a statement of intent about where the event sits on the global stage.
“Moet & Chandon has long been synonymous with excellence, celebration and unforgettable moments, making them the perfect partner as we continue to showcase the Australian Grand Prix as a truly world-class experience,” Auld said, underlining the push to position Albert Park among the sport’s most glamorous stops.
“We look forward to working with Moet & Chandon as the 2027 title partner, to set a new benchmark for luxury sporting experiences for fans at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.”
From the champagne side, the move is as much about geography and heritage as it is about branding. Moet & Chandon president and CEO Sibylle Scherer highlighted Melbourne’s enduring role in the company’s story.
“Melbourne holds a special place in Moët & Chandon’s story. Australia is one of the world’s great Champagne markets and Melbourne gives this title sponsorship a resonance that extends across the Asia-Pacific region,” Scherer said.
“Being there is meaningful: it allows us to celebrate a market that means so much to the Maison, while sharing the joy of Moet & Chandon with an even wider Formula 1 community.”
The 2027 Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for April 1-4 and will serve as the third round of the Formula 1 season. By then, the sight of champagne spraying on the Albert Park podium will carry an extra layer of symbolism — not just a victory ritual, but the signature of the event’s new identity.
