Harry Kane Set to Sign New Bayern Deal, Shutting Door on Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s long-held admiration for Harry Kane looks destined to go unfulfilled, with Bayern Munich moving towards tying down their star striker on a new long-term contract.

Manchester United have been monitoring Kane’s situation closely, aware that his current deal in Bavaria expires at the end of the season. Internally, Ratcliffe is understood to be a huge admirer of the England captain and open to exploring a move that would finally bring one of Europe’s most reliable goalscorers to Old Trafford.

Bild journalist Christian Falk, speaking on his CFBayernInsider platform, lifted the lid on the atmosphere around the negotiations during the Sport Bild Awards, where Kane was named “football star of the year”.

Kane joined the ceremony via Zoom, while his father, Pat, represented him in person at the Fischauktionshalle in Hamburg. Falk spoke with Bayern president Herbert Hainer at the event and came away with a clear impression.

The message around the club was simple: relax.

Inside Bayern, there is a strong belief that a new contract is only a matter of time. Falk detailed that there are still a few questions to resolve in the talks, but the overarching feeling is one of calm assurance that an agreement will be reached.

The timeline is already being sketched out. Falk expects an announcement on Kane’s future next month, stressing that the deal should be confirmed “absolutely this year, not next year”.

His prediction is emphatic: Kane will sign an extension that runs beyond 2026.

Once that happens, the implications are obvious. Kane, long admired at Old Trafford and viewed as a potential centrepiece of a new era under Ratcliffe, would be firmly off the market “for every other club for a long time”.

For Manchester United, and for a co-owner who would “love” to bring him to Old Trafford, it is a blunt reality. The door to Harry Kane is not just closing.
