Desire Doue Commends PSG's Sharpness in Ending Barcelona's 11-Match Unbeaten Streak

Desire Doue praised Paris Saint-Germain for their sharpness after scoring in a 4-2 Champions League victory that ended Barcelona's 11-game unbeaten run at the Parc des Princes.

French Talent Sparks Paris Victory

The young French forward opened the scoring in an intense match, helping the reigning European champions halt the La Liga leaders' strong run. Doue’s goal came in the 38th minute with a precise low shot into the bottom corner during a first half where Barcelona allowed 10 shots on target, their highest since at least the 2003-04 season.

PSG's Aggressive Press Disrupts Barcelona

The home side's pressing style caused immediate trouble for the visitors. Within 79 seconds, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hit the post following a turnover from Pedri. Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia made several key saves to deny Ousmane Dembele and substitute Ferran Torres, while PSG’s goalkeeper Matvey Safonov stopped attempts from Raphinha and Fermin Lopez.

"We knew it was going to be a match of the highest standard. We were up to the challenge and showed some great football," Doue told PSG TV. "We took our chances. The aim was to score more goals than them, because we knew they could score as well. They are a quality opponent, but we got the win and that's fantastic."

Second-Half Goals Push PSG Ahead

After Barcelona's Xavi Espart leveled early in the second half, Lucas Hernandez headed in a corner to put PSG back in front. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal equalized again, but Vitinha volleyed in quickly before Fabian Ruiz converted a cross from Achraf Hakimi.

This win brings PSG’s total to 14 goals in three Champions League matches, tying Arsenal’s 2010-11 record and making them the first team since Barcelona (2016-17) to score four or more goals in three consecutive home games in the competition.

"No matter what happens during the game, we try and stay focused every time," Doue added. "We know our qualities, we know we can score at any moment, whether that's immediately after conceding a goal, or straight after scoring one ourselves. We stayed focused tonight and it paid off."
