“This will show us where both teams are,” he said on The Overlap.

Neville’s warning for Arsenal

Neville expects Arsenal to approach this game with a different level of respect for Chelsea’s front line than they showed Aston Villa’s.

“I think Arsenal will realise Chelsea have better attacking players than Aston Villa so they’ll have to be alert and alive,” he said.

The message is clear: Arsenal’s back line, barely troubled so far, is about to face something sharper, quicker, and far more unpredictable.

Neville also sees opportunity for the champions. Chelsea don’t defend like Villa. They don’t sit in, they don’t suffocate games. They open them up.

“I think Arsenal may actually fancy their chances going forward more against Chelsea,” he added, pointing to the spaces Alonso’s side are willing to leave. But that freedom cuts both ways, and Neville underlined the danger on the break and in transition.

Chelsea, he reminded, “have some fantastic attacking players.”

Prediction with an edge

For all his praise of Chelsea’s threat, Neville’s prediction is blunt.

He’s gone for “2-0 to Arsenal,” backing the champions’ intensity and focus on the big occasion.

“I think Arsenal are going to be so up for it,” he said, expecting the Emirates to feed off the narrative of a rising rival and a new manager daring to take them on in their own backyard.
